For all classes after January 1, 2017 there will be member and non-member prices. This course is designed to be taught over an 8 hour period. The student will be introduced to the proper use of chlorine as a disinfectant at water and wastewater treatment facilities, proper handling techniques, basic safety measures to be taken when working with chemicals, and basic use of a self contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) operation.

This course is designed to be taught over an 8 hour period. The student will be introduced to the proper use of chlorine as a disinfectant at water and wastewater treatment facilities, proper handling techniques, basic safety measures to be taken when working with chemicals, and basic use of a self contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) operation. The course will include proper chlorine handling, storage, introduction of dosage calculations, and general safety guidelines needed to work with and around chlorine. This course is designed for both new and experienced water and wastewater utility operators. Upon completion of this course the water and wastewater utility operator will be made more aware of the proper uses of chlorine, measurability, reporting, and use of personal protective equipment.
